Anne Juliëtte Klootwijk is an autopoietic artist and designer. Her work arises from the necessity to explore the ‘self’. What is a human being? Can you choose who you are? And do you remain the same during the infinite changes that life brings?
Her work is based on self-analysis, whereas life is about creating oneself. While attempting to define herself within the art world and contemporary society, she explores themes such as identity, what it means to be human, and the relationship between body and mind.
Her research translates into artist publications, which offer a glimpse into her inner world, both visually and in writing. Her works are published by her alter ego Gijs the Goat under the label Goat Publications.
